Self-Potraits
Picture yourself sitting there alone in the school lobby, surrounded by those people who consider you as a freak. Some tells you so, some just staring at your face with a weird expression. Get it?
Few days ago, I joined the Pottermore test to determine our house, whether it's Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, or Hufflepuff. It came to the question "Which do you hate most, called as an ignorant one, coward, egoistic, or ordinary?" (I'm Slytherin, anyway).
I was thinking a bit longer when I found that there was no "freak" or "weird" option in that question. Well, I ended choosing "egoistic", but obviously the one I hate most is called as a freak.
Alas, it's been a long, long time since a person like me, considered as a freak. At first this didn't annoy me roughly, but it has been known that every single person has their own limit of emotion.
Before I'm going further, it's not that I want to defend myself and prove that I'm not a freak by writing this letter. Everyone has rights to hold their opinion in their own way of thinking and your opinion about me is not my business. This is just my way to express my personal opinion, period.
It's up to you -- and I think it's useless trying to be another person so that people would think you're normal or what... you will waste your time and your energy in vain. And yes, I'm not trying to be sarcastic -- that's just the concrete fact, as I have mentioned before: people's opinion about you is not your business...at all. It's your decision to be original or not.
Everyone is, psychologically abnormal. Lying? Nope. That's the truth: every single person living in this Earth has their own darkest sides. The only difference is some people choose to cover these "freak" sides of theirs, while some are not. And basically, every single person is unique. You won't find two people who have the same personality -- it's impossible.
Still thinking that you're extremely normal? Go get the mirror, stare at your reflection and think. What makes you better than other people? Your appearance? Your behaviour? Your expression? Charisma? The way you laugh, walk, or what? Now give me a full definition of that 'freak' word. Are you good enough to judge people as a freak? Have you ever imagined that someone out there, someone so kind to you, someone close to you, secretly thinks that you're actually, a freak? Do you like it?
Humans are imperfect. Everyone has flaws, only God is perfect. We do have similarities with Him, but it does not make you are perfect. We are sinners, we all did both right and wrong.
Nevertheless, it's your choice whether you want to keep mocking those people who behave a bit "different" than the others, just because that you're way too popular and cool enough to do so, or just admit that everyone is unique and we shall not judge in any way. Every single thing we do costs a risk, and will be paid as equal as what have you done. Judging other people is sin, which cost is death. Do you like being negatively judged for years? No? Neither do I.
Please think first before you speak, before you determine, before you judge, before you mock. If you know that it hurts being negatively judged, don't judge.
"Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be. Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”- Luke 6:37-38 (NIV)
Have a blessed day!
